About Valley Health Associates

Valley Health Associates provides outpatient care that combines medication-assisted treatment (MAT) with research-backed strategies to help individuals recover from opioid and alcohol use disorders. Working since 1992, the center has helped adolescents, young adults, and adults using a whole-person, evidence-based model that strengthens autonomy and encourages healthier decisions within a secure, supportive environment.

The center runs outpatient programs for both youth and adults, using approaches such as Seeking Safety, The Matrix, Living In Balance, and Anger Management. Medication-assisted treatment is reinforced with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI), helping clients build skills for long-term recovery. In addition to clinical services, Valley Health Associates uses art activities, equine therapy, counseling, and peer support to help participants develop new habits, stay motivated, and move toward their personal goals.

Valley Health Associates also offers wellness classes, mindfulness-focused spaces, and a comfortable lounge designed for everyday encouragement. A mobile clinic extends support across communities in the Monterey area through addiction assessments, counseling, and recovery services. The center promotes safer practices with options for medication disposal and naloxone distribution, and it coordinates care that may include transportation and language support. Valley Health Associates further supports people reentering the community by partnering locally and offering treatment initiatives connected to jail settings.
