About SocialHost

SocialHost is an independent directory of substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment facilities in the United States. We want to make it easier to see what is available in your city: which programs offer detox, which accept Medicaid, which prescribe medication for opioid use disorder, and how to reach them.

The site grew out of socialhost.org, which for years published information on social host liability laws, the rules that hold adults responsible when they let minors drink at their homes. We still maintain that section at Social Host Laws.

What we are not

We are not a treatment provider, we do not own or operate any facility, and we do not give medical advice. Facilities do not pay to be listed or to rank higher, and the order of listings does not reflect quality.

SocialHost is supported by advertising. The phone number in the site header is answered by a treatment provider that pays to advertise here; it is not a government or nonprofit helpline. Listings and their order are not affected by advertising.
