Sources

• SAMHSA FindTreatment.gov, the federal locator for licensed or certified substance use and mental health treatment facilities. We use it for levels of care, payment types accepted, licenses and accreditation, special programs and languages.
• Facility-provided information such as program descriptions, therapies and program length. We do not use third-party insurance claims about a facility; payment information shown on listings comes only from SAMHSA data.
• U.S. Census Bureau population and income estimates for city context.

How pages are built

City pages list every facility we have at an address in that city. Service pages (for example detox or Medicaid in a city) only appear when at least three facilities in that city report the service, so thin pages are not published. Counts and percentages on each page are calculated directly from the listings shown.

Limitations

Facilities change services, payment arrangements and phone numbers. Always confirm details with the facility before you go.
