This sober living program is based on the owner’s own journey through recovery and sober living. He noticed that many high-end, modern sober living communities were situated out of state and often felt disconnected from residents’ families and local support networks. Because of this, the men who operate the program work hard to create a safe, encouraging environment, and they do so while being in recovery themselves.
Seattle Sober Living offers two options for men who want to live within a supportive community: a transitional living home and a sober living home. Both programs are available across Seattle and include private rooms as well as shared accommodations.
The sober living home is designed to help residents build consistency, personal accountability, and better communication. It also prioritizes learning practical life skills needed for everyday independence. Seattle Sober Living teaches skills such as using public transportation, planning and managing trips to the grocery store, cooking, organizing daily routines, staying on track with medication, searching for work, writing resumes, and completing college applications.
The transitional living homes allow for greater independence, while still using random drug testing to reinforce sobriety as residents transition back to normal life after treatment. For both settings, residents only need to bring personal clothing and groceries, since all other necessities are provided.
Also confirm the facility is licensed by Washington. If you are withdrawing from alcohol or benzodiazepines, ask about medical detox; do not stop suddenly on your own.
Seattle Sober Living did not report which payment types it accepts. If you have Medicaid, ask whether the facility accepts your Washington Medicaid plan or can refer you to one that does. Most private plans must cover substance use treatment on terms comparable to other medical care under federal parity law.
