About Ryther

Just off Washington State Route 522 in north Seattle, this nonprofit center offers outpatient services for young people ages 8–25 on a peaceful 9-acre campus. The staff support clients in addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorder (SUD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and other co-occurring challenges. Treatment options range from standard outpatient care to intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and partial hospitalization programs (PHP), with levels selected based on age and clinical needs. The center’s therapists provide one-on-one counseling, facilitated group sessions, and family or caregiver involvement to strengthen emotional insight, coping strategies, and healthy communication. Clinicians also incorporate medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and substance use disorders alongside therapy and peer support to create a comprehensive model. To better engage neurodivergent youth, the team uses art, games, and movement-based activities that encourage participation and connection. Ryther offers several specialized programs, including the Sage program for teens dealing with depression or emotional strain, the Willow program for those experiencing anxiety or intrusive thoughts, and the First Episode Psychosis program for youth showing early signs of schizophrenia or related conditions. Each track uses a consistent daily structure and blends peer support with therapy to support recovery with guidance, clarity, and stability.
