About Charlie Health Virtual

Charlie Health helps teens and adults access effective, life-changing care through remote, individualized, and research-informed treatment. Its virtual programs, including its virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), deliver mental health support more than once a week for individuals facing significant mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and other related conditions. A team of experienced clinicians uses a range of evidence-based approaches in individual counseling, family therapy, and group sessions. When appropriate, they also include medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to promote sustained recovery from substance use disorders.

Charlie Health builds each person’s plan using a tailored, multi-step method. During clinical intake, the team evaluates each client’s needs and designs a personalized schedule that typically includes group meetings several times per week, along with weekly individual therapy and family therapy. Psychiatry and medication management are provided when needed. Clients may participate in up to 9–12 hours of treatment each week. The program draws on proven therapeutic practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills training, and trauma-informed care. In addition, clients can benefit from complementary approaches such as art and music therapy, yoga, mindfulness, and meditation, selected to match individual goals.

Beyond online sessions, Charlie Health provides supportive services through its 360° care model. A 24/7 crisis line offers reassurance and emergency assistance. The Charlie Cares clinical concierge helps with questions, requests, and feedback so clients can concentrate on recovery. Care Coaches offer personalized guidance, encouragement, and ongoing mentorship during treatment. Customized discharge planning also helps link clients with local providers and community resources. The center additionally offers many free virtual support groups and alumni gatherings for families and graduates of the IOP to encourage continued healing and connection.

Charlie Health’s alumni support includes free, non-clinical options that help graduates remain involved and supported after finishing treatment. Alumni groups, workshops, and an active Discord community support belonging, help participants explore interests, and encourage long-term wellness. Sessions run throughout the week and on weekends and cover a variety of themes, such as self-care, songwriting, and interview preparation, ensuring there are opportunities for different needs and preferences. Open to all program graduates, the alumni experience creates an inviting space where people can stay connected with others who understand the journey.
