About Charlie Health - Virtual

Charlie Health helps teens and adults access life-changing care through virtual, individualized, and research-backed treatment. Its online programs, including its virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), deliver mental health support more than once per week for people facing serious mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and others. Treatment is provided by qualified specialists who blend multiple evidence-based therapies into one-on-one counseling, family sessions, and group therapy.

Charlie Health builds a tailored, multi-layered plan for each person. During the clinical intake process, the team evaluates individual needs and creates a custom schedule that typically includes group sessions several times weekly, along with weekly individual therapy and family therapy. When appropriate, psychiatry and medication management are also available. Clients may participate in up to 9–12 hours of care per week. The center’s approach draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy skills (DBT), and trauma-informed therapy. Alongside these, clients may also benefit from complementary practices such as art and music therapy, yoga, mindfulness, and meditation, selected based on what works best for them.

Beyond online sessions, Charlie Health provides supportive care through its 360° care ecosystem. A 24/7 crisis line offers reassurance and urgent help when needed. The Charlie Cares clinical concierge responds to questions, requests, and feedback so clients can stay focused on progress. Care Coaches offer personalized support, guidance, resources, motivation, and mentorship throughout treatment. The program also includes individualized discharge planning that helps connect clients with local therapists and community resources. Charlie Health additionally offers many free virtual support groups and alumni events to strengthen healing and connection for families and IOP graduates.

Charlie Health’s alumni services are free, non-clinical options meant to help graduates remain supported after completing treatment. Through alumni groups, workshops, and an active Discord community, participants can build connections, explore new interests, and support long-term wellness. These gatherings are scheduled throughout the week and on weekends, covering topics such as self-care, songwriting, and interview preparation. Open to all program graduates, the alumni experience offers a welcoming space for staying connected with others who understand the journey.
