About Charlie Health

Charlie Health helps teens and adults access life-changing treatment through virtual, individualized, research-backed services. The center improves affordability and reach by accepting Medicaid in certain states. Through its online care options, including a virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), participants can receive structured mental health support more than once per week for serious conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and related concerns. Highly qualified clinicians blend multiple evidence-based approaches across one-on-one counseling, family sessions, and group therapy.

Charlie Health builds each person’s plan using a tailored, multi-step process. During clinical intake, a specialized team evaluates the client’s needs and designs a personalized schedule that may include group meetings several times per week, along with weekly individual therapy and family therapy. When appropriate, the program also includes psychiatry and medication management. Clients typically receive up to 9–12 hours of treatment each week. The therapeutic methods used are wide-ranging and may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skill-building, and trauma-informed therapy. In addition, the program can incorporate holistic practices such as art and music therapy, yoga, mindfulness, and meditation, depending on what best fits the client.

Charlie Health’s support is not limited to scheduled online sessions, thanks to its 360° care ecosystem. A 24/7 crisis line offers reassurance and urgent help when needed. The Charlie Cares clinical concierge responds to questions, requests, and feedback so clients can stay focused on recovery. Care Coaches provide ongoing direction, resources, encouragement, and mentorship throughout treatment. Personalized discharge planning also connects clients with local therapists and community resources. The center further supports clients and families with many free virtual support groups and alumni events for individuals who complete the IOP.

After finishing treatment, Charlie Health provides free alumni services that are non-clinical and designed to help graduates remain engaged and supported. Alumni groups, workshops, and an active Discord community help participants build connections, explore new interests, and continue supporting their overall well-being. Available throughout the week and on weekends, these gatherings address many needs, including self-care, songwriting, and job interview preparation. Open to all program graduates, the alumni experience offers a supportive environment where people can stay part of a community that understands the recovery journey.
