About Community Council for MH/MR
Community Council Health Systems provides support for children, adolescents, and adults dealing with mental health and behavioral difficulties. The center offers a wide spectrum of programs, including outpatient counseling and more intensive in-home services. Their care addresses a range of needs such as anxiety, depression, mood-related concerns, psychotic disorders, and situations involving both mental health symptoms and substance use. A major strength is that they deliver coordinated, age-appropriate treatment through qualified, licensed specialists.
The organization focuses on recovery through caring, research-informed therapeutic methods. Clients can participate in individual, group, and family therapy, along with psychiatric assessments and guidance with medication when needed. Treatment plans may draw on approaches like the bio-psychosocial model to support long-term progress. Through these services, people develop coping abilities, deepen self-awareness, and strengthen communication and functioning in everyday life.
They also run targeted options, including the Artistic & Cultural Enrichment (ACE) program for youth and Recovery Paths for adults, each designed to meet different needs. ACE combines art, music, and educational activities in an after-school setting, while Recovery Paths helps adults take an active role in their own recovery. Community-based resources and mobile support further allow individuals to receive care within their own homes and communities.
