About SunCloud Health SC

Set in the northern suburbs of Chicago, SunCloud Health provides clients with tailored, whole-person care using a trauma-informed model. Their programs support people living with substance use disorders, mental health concerns, and eating disorders, including cases where multiple conditions occur at the same time. SunCloud offers a 21-bed residential treatment setting, day treatment, intensive outpatient services either in person or via virtual platforms, and outpatient group programming. For adolescents, the center also provides specialized day treatment and IOP options, giving teens structured support throughout their recovery.

SunCloud is committed to delivering individualized treatment that responds to each person’s needs. Kindness and respect shape every stage of care, from the first intake meeting through discharge planning. The center emphasizes detailed intake appointments guided by clinicians, so prospective clients understand their diagnoses, what to expect during treatment, and the appropriate level of care. Through a truly integrative approach, SunCloud coordinates services through a multidisciplinary team that may include a psychiatrist for medication oversight, a therapist, a registered dietitian, a registered nurse practitioner, a family therapist, and an alcohol and drug counselor when appropriate. Recognizing that many clients have experienced trauma, whether recent or long-standing, SunCloud addresses trauma from the start using evidence-based interventions while building a setting marked by safety, trust, teamwork, and empowerment.

For clients with eating disorders, SunCloud designs a plan that reflects individual strengths and challenges. Treatment may combine expressive and experiential modalities, practical skills-based therapies, EMDR, education about eating disorders, and family therapy. Alongside evidence-based care, the center also offers holistic and innovative options such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), nutrition-focused classes, and body image therapy paired with yoga. SunCloud follows Health at Every Size (HAES) principles, supporting body weight neutrality and honoring diversity. The overall goal is to help restore balance and wellness across physical, emotional, social, and spiritual areas.

SunCloud also offers advanced services intended to complement therapy and medication management. They provide Spravato, a ketamine nasal spray, for people with treatment-resistant depression. The center also uses transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), which may help ease depressive symptoms such as agitation, sleep difficulties, irritability, and shortness of breath. These options work alongside clinical and group talk therapy and medication oversight, supporting the healing process. After completing treatment, clients can transition confidently through an alumni program that includes a weekly virtual support group, monthly activities, and volunteer or service opportunities.
