About Liberation Programs Inc

Located in partnership with the Greenwich YMCA, Liberation Programs’ Greenwich services provide counseling for clients in an intensive outpatient (IOP) environment. Appointments are mainly held at their office, though telehealth sessions can be arranged when necessary. This site is designed especially to support youth and families.

Liberation Programs works to meet people where they are through a harm reduction approach. Services include individual counseling, group sessions, and family counseling, along with medications such as Buprenorphine, Naltrexone, or Suboxone to lessen cravings and strengthen engagement in treatment. For clients who may not be ready to stop using substances right away, Liberation focuses on reducing overdose risk and provides Narcan (naloxone), with the ability to administer it in an emergency.

Beyond direct care, Liberation Programs also offers prevention services for adults and young people to help reduce the risk of future addiction and mental health challenges. The program employs recovery coaches, including staff with experience supporting clients who are pregnant or parenting. For those who require housing during recovery, they provide 18 units. Mobile outreach vans extend support by offering treatment referrals, medication prescriptions, and educational materials. The team also participates in community events and visits schools to discuss substance use.
