About Backcountry Wellness Outpatient

Backcountry Wellness, in Greenwich, Connecticut, provides extensive outpatient care for teens and young adults struggling with eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). The program is customized for each individual, supporting sustainable recovery while helping clients continue managing everyday responsibilities.

This full-day, immersive approach offers a structured setting with individual therapy, group sessions, and family involvement, along with nutritional counseling and supportive meal experiences. Clients may also participate in complementary wellness activities such as yoga and sound healing. For clients who need consistent support but can remain at home, the IOP includes after-school programming. Sessions combine therapeutic work, nutrition education, and academic assistance, helping clients practice recovery skills in real-life situations.
