About CRF Behavioral Healthcare

Located in downtown San Diego, the Jane Westin Center operates as an Urgent Psychiatric Walk-In Center for adults 18 and older who are dealing with serious mental health challenges, including people who also have substance use conditions. The center provides same-day, one-time assistance such as behavioral health screening, psychiatric assessment, medication management, crisis support, and discharge planning for individuals who need immediate psychiatric help. As part of the Community Research Foundation, the Jane Westin Center focuses on broad access and full-spectrum assistance. Supported by the County of San Diego’s Behavioral Health Services, it serves Medi-Cal beneficiaries, dual Medi-Cal/Medicare enrollees, those eligible for Medi-Cal, and those without insurance, with the goal that payment limitations do not prevent care. The center is easily reached by public transportation, near several bus routes, and within walking distance of the City College tram and the 5th Avenue light rail stations, helping guide clients to local resources for continued psychiatric treatment, behavioral health services, and social support during the transition to ongoing care.
