About Confidential Recovery

Based in San Diego, California, Confidential Recovery is an intensive outpatient program (IOP) designed for adults dealing with substance use disorders alongside concurrent mental health issues. The center holds Joint Commission accreditation and offers a combination of research-backed and complementary approaches within a secure, confidential environment. Clients work with experienced clinicians who provide therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). The program also coordinates sessions led by external specialists, including yoga, music therapy, and hypnotherapy.

Confidential Recovery follows a 12-Step model, and participants are expected to attend a minimum of three community recovery meetings each week through a group of their choosing, such as AA, SMART Recovery, or Refuge Recovery.

In addition, Confidential Recovery supports San Diego’s veteran community through a dedicated Veterans program. This track includes evidence-based treatment, family therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, yoga, group sessions, and care for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The team is guided in part by a veteran in recovery, adding real-world insight to the care process. Confidential Recovery partners with TriWest and is recognized as a Veterans Affairs Patient-Centered Community Care (VAPC3) provider. The center also provides IOP services via telehealth to give clients more scheduling flexibility.
