About Saint Johns Program for Real Change

Saint John’s Program for Real Change helps homeless women and their children recover from substance abuse, trauma, and mental health challenges. The 18-month residential program provides a secure place to live, meals, counseling, and educational support, helping families rebuild stability and move forward.

The center offers a whole-person model that includes individual, group, and family therapy. These services are designed to address underlying trauma and addiction, strengthen mental well-being, and develop practical coping strategies and emotional resilience. By building these skills, the program supports mothers in achieving greater independence and parenting with confidence. Ongoing education and workforce readiness initiatives further assist mothers in preparing for employment.

With staff available around the clock and on-site security, the mother-and-child campus creates a safe, organized, sober setting. Facilities include private and shared living rooms, dining areas, a computer lab, spaces for children to play, and a fitness room. Child-focused care and health check services help mothers concentrate on their recovery, and the program also includes transitional housing for participants preparing for independent living.
