AKUA Strong provides outpatient care for substance use issues, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders. Services are available for adult men and women, and the center also includes a specialized track designed for first responders, offering customized treatment for firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military members, and other uniformed professionals.
At the Folsom Blvd location, AKUA Strong offers day treatment (partial hospitalization) as well as an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Treatment includes a range of group options such as DBT, CBT, ACT, and specialized groups addressing trauma and attachment styles, with different therapeutic techniques matched to each person’s needs. The program also integrates complementary practices including acupuncture, tai chi, mindfulness, and yoga. Care is delivered in a trauma-informed manner, helping individuals gain practical strategies to support long-term recovery. AKUA Strong additionally offers a free alumni aftercare program that includes ongoing support meetings, peer support, and alumni events.
