About Sharp Grossmont Hospital

Sharp is dedicated to offering hope to individuals and families facing mental health challenges and substance use disorders of many types. The center delivers a full range of services, including evaluations, inpatient treatment, day programs, and ongoing support after discharge. With a caring network of medical and clinical professionals, Sharp focuses on helping people move beyond addiction through medication and evidence-based therapies designed to strengthen recovery. The program includes education about addiction as a disease, individual counseling, group therapy, case management, relapse prevention, and family education. Clients may also participate in recreational therapy, life-skills training, medication monitoring, and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) when appropriate, along with medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

Sharp accepts clients ages 6 and older. For younger adults aged 18 to 26, it offers transitional programming to help people adjust to new responsibilities, manage stress, and form healthier routines. For adults 60 and above, geriatric services address conditions such as dementia and other age-related factors that can influence mental health and substance use.

Sharp also provides day treatment and intensive outpatient (IOP) for those who do not need round-the-clock supervision or who are transitioning from inpatient care. The continuing care program is offered for a lifetime at no cost, helping clients work through challenges that arise when returning home, to work, and to community life. Support continues through weekly groups, and clients can access regular counseling through therapists. Sharp’s aftercare app offers information and direct access to aftercare resources.
