About Set Free Alaska
Set Free Alaska delivers addiction treatment that targets both substance abuse and mental health needs using a trauma-informed care model. The program combines mental health evaluations, psychoeducational learning, and evidence-based instruction delivered through individual and group formats within a Christ-centered setting. Set Free Alaska also takes a multi-generational approach, offering gender-specific residential treatment, outpatient services, and a children’s intervention program designed to meet behavioral health needs for kids and adolescents. Before beginning services, each person completes an initial assessment to identify goals and determine what support is most appropriate. Although medical detox is not provided on-site, clients can receive referrals to nearby detox facilities if necessary. Treatment may include individual and group therapy grounded in approaches such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), 12-Step facilitation, and motivational interviewing (MI). Participants attend ongoing 12-Step meetings throughout their stay. Group sessions typically address coping skills, recognizing triggers, communication strategies, relapse prevention, and related topics.
Residential facilities are situated in peaceful neighborhoods or rural environments. While the program is faith-based, clients are not required to be Christian to participate. Set Free Alaska is accredited by the Joint Commission and works with most private insurance plans as well as Medicaid.
