About Groups Recover Together Newport News

Since 2014, Groups Recover Together has been delivering outpatient services and ongoing support at several sites nationwide. The Newport News site is one of the 10 centers in Virginia and provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder. Through both virtual and face-to-face options, the program helps people stay connected during recovery, emphasizing accountability, peer guidance, and progress marked by shared achievements. The center operates Monday through Friday, holds remote services on Thursdays, and is closed on weekends.

The facility uses FDA-approved Suboxone to help ease withdrawal discomfort and lessen cravings, along with weekly group therapy sessions focused on areas such as anger management. Care is tailored to each person and informed by trauma-sensitive practices, delivered by a coordinated team that includes substance use counselors, recovery support specialists, and clinical professionals. The intake process is streamlined and frequently conducted virtually, helping individuals quickly connect with medical evaluation, medication support, and peer resources to strengthen long-term recovery and support renewed life goals.
