About BHG Chesapeake South Treatment Center
Behavioral Health Group (BHG) is a major provider of outpatient addiction care, working alongside referral partners to help people continue their recovery from opioid use. Using evidence-based methods, BHG brings together a multidisciplinary team that combines medication-assisted treatment (MAT), individual counseling, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and additional wraparound supports. Each component is shaped to align with the specific needs, objectives, and recovery plan of every patient.
With 114 treatment centers in 22 states, BHG is the largest Joint Commission-accredited outpatient network in the United States. Its wide footprint makes it possible to apply standardized best practices across all locations while supporting more than 43,000 patients each day. Published results indicate that 92% of patients report better quality of life and mental well-being, 83% experience reduced substance use, and 45% obtain employment during their first year in treatment.
BHG is also part of a small group of providers—about 4.2% nationwide—that deliver all three FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder, along with counseling and intensive outpatient services at participating sites. This person-centered strategy is designed to improve treatment engagement, lower opioid use, reduce high-risk behaviors, and strengthen lasting recovery.
