About The Esperanza Sober Living Community

Located in Dallas, Texas, The Esperanza is a sober living apartment community designed for adults in early recovery who want stability while still maintaining independence. Established in 2002, it pairs the guidance of a recovery program with the ease of independent living, giving residents a fully furnished private apartment in a secure, pet-friendly environment. To be eligible, residents must be at least 21 years old and have either 30 days of sobriety or a referral from an approved treatment program, so everyone can begin with a strong start.

The community centers on responsibility and mutual support, using consistent daily routines and scheduled recovery meetings. Residents are encouraged to develop practical sober living skills, take ownership of their decisions, and plan for a future free from substances. The Esperanza operates using a 12-Step approach and requires participation in a minimum of three on-site meetings each week. With only 40 apartments spread across two buildings, the setting stays personal and supportive, reinforcing accountability and peer connection.

Healing is supported through private, single-occupancy rooms that include a comfortable bedroom, private en-suite bathroom, closet, kitchenette, dining space, and a roomy living area. Residents also have access to shared indoor and outdoor gathering areas, patios, a grill area, laundry facilities, and a secure gated entrance with maintenance available around the clock. Children may stay for overnight visits on weekends and holidays, and residents can bring up to two pets per apartment with a one-time fee. The Esperanza brings together structure, privacy, and community to create a home-like place where recovery can feel within reach and personal growth is supported.
