About Children's Home of York BRIDGES Program

Since 2005, BRIDGES has provided a year-round psychiatric day treatment program (PHP) through Children’s Home of York for children and teens ages 6 to 18 who experience serious emotional and behavioral difficulties. The program is designed to help young people avoid hospitalization when possible, or transition safely from inpatient care. By combining focused mental health services with academic instruction on site, it supports students in becoming more stable and successful in both wellbeing and school.

Care is based on proven, individualized approaches and includes individual, group, and family therapy, medication oversight, behavior-focused interventions, and academic planning. Mental health professionals work alongside qualified special education staff to develop a combined plan for each child’s treatment and learning, so students receive the support they need to make progress.

A specialized team of psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, and educators provides coordinated support and works closely with families throughout the process. BRIDGES creates a secure, structured environment where children can heal, strengthen coping skills, and return to everyday life with practical tools and greater confidence.
