About Freedom House

Freedom House is a long-term residential rehabilitation program in Greensboro, North Carolina, designed for women and lasting 9 to 12 months. With a Christian foundation, it applies a faith-centered model to recovery from addiction, using the 12 Steps along with nutrition guidance, training in practical life skills, vocational preparation, and counseling that includes family support. The program is tailored for mothers by allowing each resident to bring up to two children under the age of 11 to stay with her. Participants are expected to work closely with their counselors, stay on their assigned nutrition plan, follow the daily routine, and continue with their employment or vocational training as part of treatment. Freedom House includes three separate houses, each able to accommodate up to six women throughout the Greensboro area. The program is offered free of charge, aside from a small application fee.
