About Canopy Childrens Solutions
Canopy Children’s Solutions CARES Center is the only nonprofit psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF in Mississippi), providing services for children and teens ages 6 to 17 who face serious emotional or behavioral challenges. Operating with 60 beds and round-the-clock supervision, the center delivers intensive psychiatric and mental health care in a secure, highly structured environment. Children from throughout the state can receive the full-time support they need to strengthen mental wellness and emotional stability.
At the CARES Center, children benefit from a supportive, organized setting that teaches them strategies to handle challenging thoughts and behaviors. A dedicated team of professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, provides care through individualized, group, and family counseling. Treatment also includes educational support, social skills development, and therapeutic activities integrated into daily routines to promote progress in both emotional growth and academics.
When treatment ends, the center collaborates closely with families to help ensure a successful transition back home and into the community. Staff assist with discharge and transition planning and provide resources to support continued improvement. Continued care is available through follow-up services and links to community programs, helping each child maintain progress over time.
