About Granite City Counseling Program of Catholic Charities

Located just off Minnesota State Highway 15 in St. Cloud, Granite City Counseling is a nonprofit outpatient clinic serving children, adolescents, and adults. Services are offered through individual, group, and family sessions, with clinicians tailoring therapy to each client’s situation and developmental stage. The program focuses on issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, grief, and self-harm, providing support through counseling approaches designed to meet individual needs.

Granite City Counseling uses evidence-based methods including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed treatment to strengthen emotional regulation, enhance communication and relationships, and promote healthier coping. Treatment planning is supported by diagnostic assessments and family psychoeducation, helping families and clients track progress across all age groups.

The center also delivers structured, curriculum-driven programs. These include Domestic Violence Turning Points, which assists women who experience resistant or reactive violence, Women’s Anger Management and Self Esteem (WASE), focused on building insight and self-control, and the Domestic Abuse Intervention Program (DAIP) Group, a 24-week series that helps men improve accountability and interpersonal awareness.
