About Sobriety House Inc

Sobriety House is a CARF-accredited rehabilitation center in Detroit that provides support for adult men dealing with substance use disorders. The program includes short-term residential treatment for up to 30 days, outpatient services, recovery coaching, and aftercare planning to help clients transition safely back to everyday life. In operation since 1964, Sobriety House has worked to help men rebuild their lives by creating structure, fostering personal purpose, and strengthening community connections.

Their treatment model combines evidence-based and encouragement-focused methods. Services may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-informed counseling, and family therapy. Participants take part in a mix of individual, group, and peer-supported sessions designed to develop emotional strength. The center also incorporates work therapy, 12-step meetings, and recreational therapy to support consistent routines and reinforce long-term recovery in both physical and mental health.

Residents follow a structured daily environment with shared schedules and assigned responsibilities that encourage accountability. Clients engage in activities such as walking, basketball, and gym workouts, along with other indoor and outdoor options. With dedicated staff and connections to local recovery resources, each person receives guidance and support to help them move forward and maintain sobriety.
