About Ness Center
The Pregnant and Postpartum Women’s Residential Treatment Program provides a specialized live-in program for pregnant and postpartum women who are dealing with substance use disorders, including alcohol and opioid dependence. It delivers comprehensive support for mothers and their children up to age 12, creating a caring setting focused on rebuilding family life. The program combines detoxification with mental health services, assisting women in working through stress, trauma, and other co-occurring concerns.
Participants receive therapy through individual, family, and group sessions, along with care coordination, parenting education, and access to mental health outpatient treatment. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is offered to support detox and help manage withdrawal. For children, the center uses age-appropriate activities that foster emotional growth while encouraging family healing through structured programming and counseling.
During treatment, women stay in a home-like environment and remain close to their children. Integrated childcare, educational activities, and school-related support help mothers concentrate on their recovery, while children receive the care and guidance they need. Families share meals, attend therapy together, and spend time in outdoor spaces such as walking areas and play zones that promote closeness, recovery, and healthy bonding.
