About Village South Inc
The Village South works to improve the lives of people who require treatment for substance use and related mental health disorders. The center provides individual, family, and group counseling, along with targeted specialty programming for women and children, adolescents, and adults.
For adults, The Village South operates a residential program called Families in Transition (FIT). This program supports women and mothers who have been identified as unsafe by the child welfare system. Participants receive recovery-focused strategies designed to remove substance use as a barrier to reunification. The center also delivers the Family Intensive Treatment Team (FITT) program over a 4–6 month period, using evidence-based approaches and a team made up of a therapist, care coordinator, and peer specialist.
The Village South also offers services in clients’ homes and on-site for adults age 18 and older who are dealing with a substance use disorder or a co-occurring condition. These services may include one-on-one therapy, family counseling, substance abuse treatment, individualized care planning, and urine testing during a 3–6 month course of treatment. In addition, they provide Functional Family Therapy (FFT), an intervention model for families with youth ages 12–17 who face risk of substance use and other challenges.
The Village South further provides a medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program for individuals with opioid addiction and co-occurring disorders. The program includes weekly clinical appointments, peer support, medical care, and help connecting to community support groups, housing resources, and vocational assistance.
