About Monte Nido Miami Residential Treatment

Monte Nido’s residential treatment center in Miami (previously called Oliver-Pyatt Centers) offers individualized treatment for women dealing with eating disorders and additional mental health challenges in Miami, Florida. Established in 2008 by Dr. Wendy Oliver-Pyatt, a Fellow of the Academy of Eating Disorders and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, the center has supported thousands of women in building freedom through a holistic, compassionate and non-judgmental approach. Monte Nido emphasizes that preparing clients to transition successfully to life beyond the program is an important part of recovery. Using a collaborative process, therapists and clients carefully examine each person’s relationship with food, body image, relationships, and sense of self.

The center explains that treatment is carried out through mindful eating techniques, daily support from staff, individual and family therapy, structured meal support and exposure-based outings, and group therapy where patients work through relevant, personalized concerns. This model is designed to help individuals move toward full recovery from Binge Eating Disorder, with the aim of reconnecting with life through joy and meaningful relationships, finding enjoyable movement and activities, developing nourishing routines, and planning for future chapters.

At Monte Nido, clients live in comfortable apartments within residential areas of South Miami. Typically, two clients share a modern two-bedroom apartment, and treatment occurs at the nearby facility, with transportation provided. Monte Nido is accredited by the Joint Commission and accepts most private insurance plans.
