About Florida Addiction and Recovery Ctr
Located in Fort Lauderdale, this outpatient facility is surrounded by bright beaches and winding waterways, offering a calm setting for a fresh start. The center provides partial hospitalization both during the day and at night (PHP), along with an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for people who want structured help for substance use issues and co-occurring mental health concerns.
The IOP usually consists of roughly nine hours of group programming each week, plus one weekly individual meeting. Treatment plans commonly last from 30 to 180 days depending on each person’s progress. Separate housing is available for men and women to encourage safety and minimize distractions, and staff arrange transportation to the clinical campus.
Programming is grounded in a holistic model that uses proven approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), art-based and equine-assisted activities, and medication management. Clients build practical life skills through wellness-focused programming, including psychodrama, yoga, meditation, anger and stress coping, nutrition guidance, and family counseling—designed to help new insights become everyday routines. For opioid use disorder, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) uses FDA-approved medications alongside counseling to promote stability and lessen cravings.
Participants receive support through regular one-on-one work with licensed therapists, daily sessions with certified counselors, peer group involvement, and weekly participation in outside 12-Step meetings. Family members are encouraged to engage and learn, while an alumni program helps reinforce progress after discharge. Veterans and first responders may access specialized pathways tailored to their experiences and needs.
