About Jaywalker Lodge LLC

Jaywalker is a dual-diagnosis rehabilitation center for men dealing with substance use alongside co-occurring mental health conditions. While many programs offer stays of about 30 days, that time frame is often too short to build a solid base for lasting recovery, particularly when long-term, chronic relapse needs to be addressed. In contrast, Jaywalker uses a continuum-of-care model that starts with 90-day inpatient treatment and continues into structured aftercare and beyond. As clients progress, they typically transition from higher levels of support to less intensive options, including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient care, along with transitional living and a family-focused program. At Jaywalker, the men form a highly engaged community, using the Roaring Fork Valley to broaden their healing experiences beyond traditional treatment rooms.

Jaywalker is a community where staff, volunteers, and clients share the recovery journey and are grounded in the 12 Steps. With a focus on chronic relapse, the center teaches that men often return to treatment for different reasons, but frequently the root issue is an incomplete understanding of Step One and a lack of fully personal ownership of it. Clients explore how drugs and alcohol have affected every area of their lives, helping uncover the real drivers behind each person’s addiction and recovery. Jaywalker blends evidence-based care with holistic practices to support healing of the mind, body, and spirit. Treatment commonly includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), along with high-quality outdoor programming, wilderness experiences, and opportunities to serve others to strengthen connection, confidence, and purpose.

Because chronic relapse often overlaps with additional mental health challenges, Jaywalker evaluates dual diagnoses from multiple perspectives to identify what needs immediate attention and to guide the most appropriate treatment plan. The multidisciplinary team includes a board-certified medical director, clinicians with master’s degrees, addiction specialists, and professionals experienced in mental health and trauma, enabling effective care for men with complex psychiatric and trauma-related needs.

Jaywalker’s transitional living program helps clients move from intensive care toward independent living. Programming includes 90-day intensive outpatient and outpatient options, a sober living home with 24/7 staff oversight, and independent residences located across the street from the primary care facility. The center also maintains a strong alumni network, with many ways to stay connected, such as ongoing networking, three meetings each week, events, expeditions, and volunteer opportunities.

Time at Jaywalker is designed to be as active outside as it is within the facility. Men practice “meditation in motion” through activities like fishing, golfing, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Inpatient participants stay in an upscale lodge featuring modern comfort and shared rooms. A meaningful part of the Jaywalker culture is the nightly family-style dinners, prepared by a dedicated chef and warmly supported by clients and alumni. Jaywalker encourages involvement from family and supportive friends, but communication is handled through the provided landline phones and the client computers.
