Broadway Lodge is one of the UK’s leading addiction treatment centres built around total abstinence. Since 1974, the facility and its multidisciplinary team have been supporting adults living with substance use disorders and related mental health conditions. The centre delivers a holistic, research-informed programme based on 12-step principles, including medically supervised detox, structured therapy, and assistance for families.

Rehabilitation at Broadway Lodge begins with creating an individualised treatment plan tailored to each person’s needs. For those requiring detox, 24/7 medical oversight is provided in a safe and comfortable setting by experienced general nurses, nurse prescribers, and mental health nurses. Detox is supported in a dedicated five-bedroom medical suite for a period of about one to four weeks, with staff monitoring the client throughout and offering detox medication when required.

The residential programme combines psychoeducation, 12-step work, and peer support with a consistent daily structure that includes both group and one-to-one therapies. Sessions and activities may include gender-specific groups, stress management, mindfulness and relaxation, hypnotherapy, yoga, reiki, massage and reflexology, and relapse prevention. Clients also benefit from family involvement, educational talks, auricular acupuncture, daily group sessions, and fellowship meetings. Over their 12-week stay, individuals receive guidance from assigned addiction counsellors and peer mentors.

Broadway Lodge also supports relatives and loved ones through online educational courses facilitated by an addiction counsellor, focusing on understanding addiction and recovery. In addition, clients can access private one-to-one virtual therapy as part of aftercare.

Accommodation includes 13 private rooms, many with en-suite bathrooms, plus additional twin and triple rooms for same-sex residents. The main house, fully refurbished in 2021, offers capacity for up to 28 patients. Meals are provided daily in three balanced, nutritious servings, with vegetarian choices and flexibility for other dietary requirements. Residents also have constant access to water, chilled milk, tea, coffee, and fresh fruit, and receive nutrition education and counselling during treatment. Relaxation and healing opportunities are built into the care plan, with guided approaches such as reiki, yoga, tai chi quigong, Indian head massage, reflexology, and light exercise.

Broadway Lodge offers compassionate, whole-person treatment for adults with addictions to drugs or alcohol, and also addresses gambling, gaming, and sex addictions, as well as codependency and co-occurring issues such as trauma, depression, and anxiety.
