About Redwood Community Services Inc

Located close to the Grace Hudson Museum and only a short trip from downtown Ukiah, Mendo SUDS is an outpatient program for youth ages 16–25 and adults 25 and older who face substance use along with related mental health concerns. Convenient connections to local bus routes and Highway 101 make it accessible for people in the area as well as those coming from neighboring communities.

The center combines abstinence-focused treatment with harm reduction approaches, tailoring care to where each person is in the change process. Services may include motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Living in Balance, and the Matrix relapse prevention model. Together, these therapies support greater self-understanding, better coping with cravings, and development of healthier daily routines.

Clients also take part in specialized groups that cover the risks of substance use and extend to topics such as HIV, tuberculosis, needle safety, and practical life skills. Mendo SUDS additionally offers Seeking Safety, a trauma-informed therapy, plus crisis assistance and short-term aftercare designed to strengthen long-term stability and growth.
