About Polaris Teen Center

Polaris Teen Center is dedicated to creating a secure environment where adolescents can focus on healing. The team understands that mental health challenges in teens may develop from many sources, including traumatic experiences, inherited or biological factors, and stressors within the home environment. At the center, clinicians are trained to support young people facing depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and other emotional and mood difficulties. Treatment also addresses harmful and risky behaviors such as self-injury, substance use, and eating disorders.

Polaris Teen Center emphasizes the role of the family in meaningful recovery and incorporates education and involvement to strengthen outcomes. Services are provided through a structured, evidence-based model that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Post Induction Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Psychoeducational Group Therapy. In addition, the center includes experiential options such as surfing therapy, yoga, Brainspotting therapy, meditation and mindfulness, martial arts, physical conditioning, and somatic experiencing.

Creative approaches are also part of the program, including art therapy and recreational activities like hiking and swimming. The clinical and medical staff includes professionals with advanced degrees such as Doctor of Psychology, Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, and Pediatrics. Licensed specialists at Polaris Teen include Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), and Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFT).

Polaris Teen Center operates two residential properties: East Tarzana and West Tarzana. Each home features shared bedrooms and bathrooms, along with spacious common areas for living and dining. West Tarzana is a newly renovated Mediterranean-style residence with a panoramic balcony, a large pool, a hot tub, and walk-in closets, along with a private on-site chef. East Tarzana is a renovated New England-style home with a California-inspired update, offering a private chef, a spa, and private terraces. Both locations provide gated access and a high level of privacy.
