About Perinatal Substance Abuse Program
The Santa Clara County Department of Alcohol and Drug Services at 151 West Mission Street provides outpatient care for people dealing with both mental health concerns and substance use issues. The program is delivered by licensed and pre-licensed clinicians, supported by Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselors. Clients also receive help from peer mentors who have personal experience, including coaching, resource referrals, and support with Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) vouchers. The staff includes speakers of Spanish and other widely used local languages to promote culturally responsive services.
In addition, this location includes the Reentry Resource Center, which assists individuals as they transition back into the community. Offerings cover behavioral health, access to primary medical care, help with social services such as Medi-Cal and housing, and referrals to faith-based programs. The site also runs the Mission Street Recovery Station, a 24-hour voluntary sobering and crisis stabilization program designed to lessen emergency department use and strengthen recovery efforts.
