About Riverside University - Rubidoux Family Care Center

Across the Inland Empire, Riverside University Health System (RUHS) provides a full range of general health services, including care for mental health conditions and substance use disorders through both residential and outpatient programs. RUHS holds accreditation from the Joint Commission and CARF. The RUHS Rubidoux Family Care Center offers treatment for mental health and substance use disorders, along with other medical needs. Rubidoux Family Care Center is located within the Don Schroeder Family Care Center complex. Its outpatient services are available Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Programs are designed for multiple age groups, including children, transitional age youth (16–25), adults in midlife, and older adults 60 and above, with services adapted to each group’s needs. A key focus is early intervention, including the Set-4-School program for children ages 0–5, reflecting the importance of supporting early development. RUHS also provides home visits when appropriate, particularly for older adults. Additional specialized services include support for pregnant and parenting women and programming for people involved in the criminal justice system. To improve access to care, RUHS provides translation for all programs, including American Sign Language (ASL). Children aged 5 and under may attend treatment with a parent or guardian. All RUHS locations, including the Hemet Family Care Center, are wheelchair accessible. RUHS follows a “whatever-it-takes” approach, delivering individualized assistance such as therapy, help with housing, and training in daily living skills to promote stability and lasting recovery. Care may include medication support and medication-assisted treatment (MAT), multidimensional family therapy (MDFT), and coordination with primary care providers to match the treatment plan to each client. Clients can review their care information during and after treatment using the MyChart app.
