Young People in Recovery (YPR) is a national nonprofit organization committed to helping young adults between 18 and 24 years old build lasting recovery from substance use disorders. YPR works to strengthen people’s chances for success through advocacy, educational efforts, and peer-to-peer support, offering recovery options that are both accessible and adapted to the specific needs of young people. The organization also aims to reduce the stigma often tied to addiction and recovery, encouraging supportive spaces where individuals can move forward and prosper.
In the Fresno Chapter of Young People in Recovery, we offer free, enjoyable substance-free events, along with a steadily growing recovery community filled with dedicated individuals who want to help you on your path. We focus on building a welcoming and inclusive network for anyone in recovery, anyone supporting someone in recovery, or anyone interested in learning more. We also host weekly All Recovery Meetings that are open to everyone, whether you’re in recovery or you’re a caring supporter. These gatherings are designed to be safe, supportive, and easy to access, helping participants find the help they need no matter which recovery path they follow.
YPR stands out for its commitment to advocacy and the development of recovery-ready communities. By partnering with policymakers and other key stakeholders, YPR supports systemic changes that improve support for people in recovery. With this whole-person approach and strong reliance on peer-led support, YPR serves as a meaningful resource for young adults working toward recovery and a hopeful future.
