About New Directions for Women Inc
New Directions for Women is a supportive and secure space where women can take back control of their lives, strengthen their families, and reconnect with their own inner power. The center works with women at all stages of life, including pregnant women and mothers caring for young children, using a complete range of services that may include detox at any point in pregnancy, residential programming, and structured aftercare. Women can bring their children with them, from newborns through age 12. The goal here is simple: women are viewed beyond their challenges, as capable and determined people who can create real, long-lasting change.
Recovery starts with the conviction that every woman should have the opportunity to reshape her life story. That’s why New Directions for Women uses narrative therapy as part of a caring, trauma-informed treatment model. This approach helps women explore what they’ve been through, make sense of it, and rewrite the harmful stories that addiction and trauma have left behind. Instead of allowing past events to define them, women learn to adjust their perspective, placing self-respect and resilience at the center of their future.
A calm, welcoming setting is also an important part of healing at New Directions for Women. This California program offers a home-like atmosphere. Located in Costa Mesa, close to the coast, the facility is a well-kept home with both private and shared bedrooms. With housekeeping support and reserved parking, the environment is arranged so clients can concentrate fully on getting better.
Moving from treatment back into daily life can be a particularly sensitive period. Their aftercare services are built to provide steady support once a woman leaves residential care. Ongoing therapy, relapse prevention planning, and an active alumni community help women remain engaged and confident as they continue their recovery journey.
