About Arc of Anchorage
The Arc of Anchorage helps Alaskans who live with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as those facing behavioral and mental health challenges. They create individualized plans that may include advocacy, access to health-related resources, and help with finding and maintaining employment. The organization’s goal is to strengthen people with disabilities by recognizing their abilities, supporting growth, and helping them move toward personal aspirations.
Through the Community Enrichment and Quality of Life Program, adults who require additional assistance can participate in structured, objective-driven activities designed to build social connections and practical everyday skills. The Therapeutic Foster Care program supports children and young people with developmental disabilities or complex medical needs by placing them in nurturing family homes while providing ongoing professional guidance. Their behavioral health services include clinical care and rehabilitation programming.
The Arc of Anchorage also provides multiple housing choices, such as supported independent living and group homes with around-the-clock staff support. These residences are situated in Downtown, East, and South Anchorage, offering convenient access to stores, parks, and public transit. Each setting is intended to encourage independence and meaningful participation in the community.
