About Centers for Independence
Run by Centers for Independence, the Crisis Resource Center is a community-based facility that provides individualized support 24 hours a day for people in crisis. It is designed to promote recovery and act as an alternative to incarceration or hospital care. The center includes residential rooms where individuals can stay while stabilizing in a comfortable, home-like setting, serving an average of 1,270 people each year.
Support offered at the Crisis Resource Center may include crisis assessments, peer support, psychosocial groups, counseling, help with housing, employment counseling, assistance coordinating benefits, and other related services. Care is provided using a trauma-informed approach, and the center also offers telehealth and telepsychiatry, with follow-up when needed.
