About ARC Community Services Inc
The ARC Maternal and Infant Program (MIP) is a residential treatment facility with 12 beds located in Madison, Wisconsin. It provides support to pregnant and postpartum women who are facing substance use disorders. Since opening in 1993, MIP has enabled mothers to stay with their infants in a stable, caring setting while they receive full clinical and supportive services.
MIP includes programs focused on pregnancy and childbirth, such as guidance for healthy pregnancies and birth planning, along with instruction related to newborn care and bonding. Mothers work with a dedicated Parenting Social Worker to build practical parenting competencies. The center also conducts substance use disorder assessments, offers intensive case management, and provides individual and group therapy. For those who benefit from it, the program supports medication-assisted treatment. Plans for ongoing care are built in to help participants move successfully back to their communities.
The program is for women 18 years and older and accepts referrals from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, BadgerCare (Medicaid), and county human services agencies. Services are provided free of charge to participants, supported primarily by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, BadgerCare (Medicaid), and the Dane County Department of Human Services. MIP is licensed as a community-based residential facility and approved to deliver substance use disorder treatment, offering a safe, structured environment for recovery.
