About Harmony Wheeling

Harmony Wheeling offers outpatient services for children, teenagers, adults, and couples who are dealing with mental health concerns or substance use disorders, set against the backdrop of the Appalachian Mountains. The center operates Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Treatment plans combine proven therapeutic approaches with biomedical and medical options. The team delivers acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), behavioral activation, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and a range of psychotherapy modalities including family therapy and family systems therapy. Services also include humanistic therapy, interpersonal therapy (IPT), psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). They may also offer NeuroStar transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), Spravato for depression, medication management, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use.

Harmony provides care for both individuals and couples and accepts patients through self-admission or referral. For couples, therapy emphasizes open communication about feelings and working together to find shared solutions.

For opioid-related substance use, Harmony runs the Recovery-based Outpatient Opioid Treatment Services (R.O.O.T.S.) program, which uses MAT to support clients in understanding how addiction affects their lives. Buprenorphine (Suboxone) is the primary option, though in specific circumstances the medication may be changed to naltrexone (Vivitrol) or other alternatives.

Along with this site near the Ohio border off I-70, Harmony also operates four additional facilities in West Virginia that provide similar outpatient programming, plus a virtual therapy option. These locations are part of the Transformation Care Network, which offers outpatient treatment across the East Coast and in the Seattle area.
