About reSTART

ReSTART is a rehabilitation center dedicated to helping teens and young adults who are struggling with compulsive technology use. The program supports individuals dealing with problems related to video games, excessive screen time, internet gaming, and social media. ReSTART offers residential care and assists men and women whose technology addiction occurs alongside other challenges such as depression, anxiety, attention issues including ADHD/ADD, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), school-related difficulties, and difficulties in relationships. Treatment at ReSTART is based on proven therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), family therapy, motivational interviewing, skill-building activities for daily life, interpersonal therapy, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). The center provides separate tracks for teens and adults, with gender-specific approaches.

For adults, ReSTART includes a range of residential options such as safe, home-like community living, thorough evaluations, daily workshops, one-on-one therapy sessions, hands-on experiential therapies, opportunities to volunteer, and time outdoors through hikes and camping. ReSTART also runs De-Tech Rise Up, a sober living option lasting 1+ months. In this program, clients live on a functioning ranch, manage responsibilities for themselves, and care for animals. In addition, there is an intensive retreat stay of 1+ months, featuring structured clinical therapy, workshops and group participation, recreation and adventure therapy, and planning for long-term life balance to support lasting recovery. Adult programs also include Open World, an independent living option (3–8 months), and Sustainability Maintain Momentum (9–12 months).

For teenagers, ReSTART offers residential programming with year-round enrollment, as well as a summer intensive option. The teen residential program is approximately 12+ weeks long. ReSTART is a private-pay facility.

ReSTART provides two housing settings, each designed for specific ages and genders. Rise-Up Ranch is the adult residential living area. The adult accommodations include a cozy cabin set in the mountains, with an on-site gym, outdoor lounge, rustic fire pit, horseshoe area, chicken coop, board games, a stone fire stove, and puzzles. Adult bedrooms are semi-private and include shared bathrooms, with large Jacuzzi tubs and dual vanities. For teens, the housing option is Serenity Mountain, located on 32 acres with impressive forest views. Serenity Mountain offers an indoor swimming pool, meditation room, a full gym, a library stocked with both new and classic books, outdoor lounge space, fire pit area, mountain trails, and a learning center. Teen rooms are shared, with gender-specific bathrooms and bedrooms.
