Aster Springs Outpatient in Richmond provides specialized care for eating disorders and related mental health concerns through a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults of all genders. Each client receives close support from qualified, licensed professionals, along with a recovery plan designed around their individual situation and goals. Aster Springs may help people dealing with anorexia nervosa, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), binge eating disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa, compulsive exercise disorder, and other specified feeding or eating disorders (OSFED). In the PHP track, clients attend programming for 6 hours each day, five days per week. Treatment includes individual therapy, group sessions, and family therapy. Depending on needs, the plan may also include nutrition coaching, meal support, and access to medical and psychiatric services. The IOP offers 3 hours per day, 3 to 5 days per week, with both daytime and evening options. While participating in therapies similar to PHP, clients in IOP focus on steady, meaningful progress to prepare them for a less intensive outpatient level of care. Aster Springs’ licensed therapists and staff implement trauma-informed, research-based approaches as part of each person’s customized plan. Available therapies can include acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP), nutrition therapy, and yoga. Aster Springs Outpatient – Richmond is an LGBTQ+ affirming setting that welcomes people of all faiths.
