The Turning Point Center of Chittenden County, based in Burlington, Vermont, is a nonprofit that helps individuals and families work through substance use disorder recovery. It creates a friendly, alcohol- and drug-free setting where people in different phases of recovery can receive encouragement from peers and find a range of services centered on recovery. At the center, participants can benefit from one-on-one recovery coaching, peer support groups, and wellness activities such as creative writing, yoga, mindfulness practices, and art-based sessions. Together, these holistic programs support recovery in emotional, physical, and social ways, helping people strengthen coping skills and find routes toward long-term healing. Using several complementary recovery strategies, the center aims to offer guidance matched to each person’s circumstances and objectives. A key feature of the Turning Point Center is its welcoming, community-oriented model of recovery. By maintaining a safe and supportive environment, it provides important resources while also encouraging relationships and a feeling of acceptance. Through its focus on whole-person care and peer-led empowerment, the Turning Point Center has become an important part of Vermont’s recovery community.
