About New Roads Behavioral Health

Situated in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, on Fort Union Boulevard, the rehabilitation center provides outpatient care through a 12-week intensive outpatient program (IOP). This program includes group therapy, individual counseling, and psychiatric services. Participants meet for nine hours of group therapy each week, with sessions centered on communication, emotional regulation, and peer connection. Treatment plans are individualized by therapists to address trauma, strengthen healthy coping, and coordinate services according to each client’s diagnosis and specific needs. For individuals who require a more structured setting, the center also offers day treatment (PHP) with approximately 30 hours of weekly programming. Services include dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills groups, life skills training, and psychoeducation. Clients receive one-on-one therapy as well as medication management and case management to assist with goals related to work, school, and maintaining sobriety. Some clients transition into PHP+ and reside in supervised apartments, where staff conduct welfare checks and offer daily support while they work toward greater independence.
