About Latino Behavioral Health Services
Situated close to the Mill Creek Station Light Rail, Latino Behavioral Health Services (LBHS) is a nonprofit organization formed from the grassroots community, focused on narrowing gaps in mental health care for Utah’s underserved Latino residents. Operated with a peer-driven approach, LBHS promotes mental health awareness and overall wellness through guidance, education, encouragement, and help connecting people to needed services, provided in a culturally, socioeconomically, and linguistically appropriate way.
LBHS uses a culturally informed program model that includes counseling, peer-led support, educational workshops, and SMART Recovery groups designed with the Latino community in mind. The center also provides targeted initiatives addressing grief, emotional well-being, family assistance, and LGBTQ+ related needs. Its youth peer support program is specifically geared toward Latinx young people ages 12–26, taking into account issues such as adjusting as a first generation immigrant and navigating life as a queer teen or young adult in Utah.
Designed “by Latinos, for Latinos,” LBHS works to ensure its services align with clients’ cultural backgrounds, supporting both recovery and personal empowerment. To keep care within reach, LBHS uses a sliding-scale fee system and offers Medicaid coverage for Peer Support Services.
Latino Behavioral Health Services additionally provides therapy and peer support at the locations below by appointment only: 237 26th Street, Ogden, UT 84401; 1885 W. Ute Blvd., Park City, UT 84098; 777 W. 500 N. #005, Provo, UT 84601.
