About Discovery Ranch South

Discovery Ranch is a distinctive residential treatment program for adolescent girls that combines time-tested therapeutic approaches with newer, evidence-based methods. A key focus of the center is relationship-based treatment, designed to address the mental health challenges the girls are experiencing. Discovery Ranch also offers a nationally accredited academic component. Master’s and doctoral-level clinicians provide care for a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, difficulties with peers, mood disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder (ADD/ADHD), and more. Treatment is delivered through the center’s signature CARE model, which supports clinical, academic, relational, and experiential growth.

As part of the program, girls participate in hands-on activities including equine therapy, cow therapy, calf adoption, recreation therapy, music and performance therapy, sand tray therapy, and a peer leadership initiative. Families are invited to strengthen their connections through weekly family therapy, scheduled family visits, and Parent Day events. The girls build skills in responsibility and accountability through daily chores and participation in everyday ranch routines. The program also includes physical fitness, nutritious meals, psychiatric evaluations with medication management, and opportunities for community service.
