About Positive Recovery LLC

Positive Recovery Centers offers full-scale, individualized addiction treatment for adults who also have co-occurring mental health disorders, with services available across multiple sites around the greater Houston, Hill Country, and Dallas/Fort Worth regions. The Energy Corridor location provides outpatient care, including a partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP), supportive outpatient program (SOP), and intensive outpatient virtual therapy options.

Their model of care is structured to steadily build independence and personal responsibility while reducing reliance on highly intensive, tightly scheduled treatment. At the same time, clients and their families continue to receive ongoing guidance and support throughout the process.

At Positive Recovery, the partial hospitalization program (PHP) is the most structured outpatient level, offering clear accountability and a high standard of support. PHP is often a critical step between residential treatment and outpatient care, giving clients a more focused program without requiring 24/7 monitoring. It also allows flexibility for clients to return home or continue treatment through a sober living setting. This program is well-suited for people transitioning out of residential care or those who are ready to pursue sobriety but do not need constant stabilization.

In the PHP program, clients complete at least 20 hours of structured treatment each week and also meet weekly with a physician who can provide medication management when needed. Programming at Positive Recovery is guided by the scientifically supported “positive recovery” curriculum and incorporates additional evidence-based approaches. The center may also include recreational and experiential activities, such as music and art appreciation, to support self-discovery, emotional processing, and personal growth.

The IOP is designed for clients who are ready to return to work, school, or other responsibilities. It keeps clients actively involved in treatment while offering flexible scheduling, including daytime, evening, and virtual sessions. Typically, clients participate in 9 to 12 hours of treatment, 3 to 4 days per week, for a total of about eight weeks. The focus includes coping and life skills, symptom management, relapse prevention, and building a supportive network outside of treatment.

The supportive outpatient program (SOP) offers outpatient individual counseling during early recovery, frequently after finishing PHP or IOP. In this phase, clients can continue their progress in a safe, structured setting that reinforces healthy choices and encourages continued healing and development.

Positive Recovery’s treatment also emphasizes family involvement and ongoing aftercare. Family workshops help meet the needs of each family member, promoting constructive changes in behavior and encouraging honest, open communication. Clients and family members may attend educational presentations, group therapy sessions, and hands-on activities that strengthen understanding and support.

Aftercare includes weekly group support meetings facilitated by licensed counselors. This continued care helps lower relapse risk, reinforces coping tools, improves social skills and communication, and supports healthier lifestyle habits. Depending on individual circumstances, aftercare may continue for several weeks, months, or years, and it can include community recovery resources such as 12-step programs. When required, Positive Recovery also provides monthly progress reports to employers or licensing boards.
