About Monarch Community

This residential rehabilitation center, formerly called Shaunty Healing Center, offers an uninterrupted spectrum of support for individuals with serious mental health conditions. Services start with a detailed assessment and stabilization to confirm the appropriate duration and level of care for each patient. During this initial stage, the center focuses on medication management, accurate diagnostic work, development of a personalized treatment plan, and building a strong therapeutic relationship between the patient and the clinician.

Following stabilization, patients move into the intensive treatment program. At this point, they begin addressing psychological harm related to issues such as trauma, grief, and recovery from drugs or alcohol. A team of licensed and experienced clinicians guides the work using a psycho-dynamic approach. The next component is transitional living, where patients continue individual therapy and medication while residing off-site in a facility owned by Shaunty Healing. This step is designed to strengthen independence. It also includes support with job searching and mentoring for newer residents.

The Monarch Community is a private-pay treatment center and does not work with insurance plans. The Monarch Community also works in partnership with Houston Medical to deliver skilled clinical services.

In addition, the center operates as a working farm. The farm program can include up to six men or women who participate during their recovery while working on-site at Monarch. Participants help care for birds, horses, and other animals, and they also learn gardening skills.
